The Amazon Frogbit is a beginner level freshwater plant. It’s very easy to grow with minimal requirements. It does best with a full spectrum plant light and low to moderate flow.

Amazon Frogbit is a medium sized floating plant. It is fast growing, absorbs nitrates and other excess nutrients, helps to oxygenate the water, and creates a safe, shaded area that is perfect for fish fry and shrimplets to hide in. This plant actually benefits from a slightly overstocked tank. It can even help control algae by absorbing excess nutrients and reducing the light that reaches the algae. Amazon Frogbit is incredibly hardy and low maintenance, making it perfect for beginners and experienced aquarists. It can thrive in a variety of water parameters, but benefits from good lighting and low to moderate water flow. Mystery snails (and all snails, really) love to eat the roots of these floaters, so, if you are buying a small quantity, it might be prudent to keep a few in a separate tank to propagate.
These plants are grown in our community tanks with snails, shrimp, and fish. That means there’s a high likelihood of hitchhikers such as pest snails and/or scuds. Our tanks are kept at 76°F with a ph of 7.8 and no Co2. They are getting fish, snail, and shrimp poop as fertilizer as well as monthly doses of Magic Minerals (which is available in our shop).
Please note:
Some leaves and/or roots may melt back some initially, don’t worry this is common and happens often with many aquatic plants after being introduced into a new tank. After the initial melt, new leaves and roots will grow and the plants will get bigger before you know it.

Refunds for plants that arrive DOA will require pictures of dead plant in original packaging within 2 hours of delivery.
* * * SITUATIONS THAT VOID THE DOA GUARANTEE * * *
1.) Choosing Ground Shipping at checkout. Ground Shipping takes longer to arrive, thus putting more stress on the plants. If you choose a shipping method through the USPS, the DOA is voided.
2.) Package is unsuccessfully delivered on the first attempt (I ship to the address listed with Etsy, it’s your responsibility to ensure the address is correct). If the shipping company is unable to deliver on the first attempt, the DOA is voided.
3.) Not opening your package immediately upon delivery. Once shipped, a tracking number is provided, it’s your responsibility to open it as soon as the package is delivered. If the package is not opened within 2 hours of delivery, the DOA is voided.
4.) Package is lost due to package thief. (If this happens, please contact your local USPS or UPS to file a claim)
5.) Not providing the above, required proof of death within the 2 hour time window. If proof that the plants you received from us arrived dead is not provided, the DOA is voided.

We ship on Tuesdays using USPS. Orders placed by 8:00 pm MST Monday (MST = Mountain Standard Time) will be shipped that Tuesday. Orders placed after that will be shipped the following week.
