Protein XP ~ Food for Aquatic Invertebrates

We only sell products in our store that we use and love. We don’t get any kind of kick-back from the manufacturer for promoting their products (not even free food! lame.). We bought our first tub of GlasGarten Protein XP as a high protein food to add to our rotation of snail foods when we don’t feel up to (or have run out of) the frozen foods we use. It was a major hit! Not only do the snails and shrimp dig it, but so do our other bottom feeders! Between the two of us, we have a myriad of hillstream loaches, panda loaches, kuhli loaches, and corydora catfish. All of which enjoy a fairly high protein diet. I (Morgan) was particularly surprised to see my pygmy and habrosus cories wiggling their way in to get some! So cute!

This is the description from the manufacturer:
“GlasGarten Protein XP is a complete feed for ornamental shrimp, snails, crayfish/crabs and fish in the aquarium.

Protein XP from GlasGarten is a protein-rich feed to promote growth and reproduction. Proteins are the building material for cell and tissue growth and form the basis for strong, healthy body structures. Protein content plays a central role, especially when breeding shrimp and other aquarium inhabitants, and the need for reproduction and young animal care is high.

The protein feed GlasGarten Protein XP completely covers this increased need with 42% protein content of animal and vegetable proteins. It supports fertility and egg formation, e.g. in female shrimp, as well as healthy growth of the young. If there is a lack of protein, female shrimp cannot form well-developed egg packets, which can be seen, for example, when the egg spot in the neck area does not grow sufficiently or even stagnates in growth. The young shrimp also have an increased protein requirement during the rapid growth phases, as the small shrimp have to shed their skin much more often in the first few weeks of their lives and grow more quickly than adult shrimp. They use up a lot of energy and need proteins to grow. If these are not available in sufficient quantities, only a few of the young animals usually reach adulthood. Proteins are essential for life and if breeders in particular like to feed them high-protein feeds so that the animals are always optimally supplied and breeding is successful.

Protein XP is the main food for a powerful diet with increased protein requirements. The recipe is based on our more than 20 years of experience as shrimp breeders and contains all the important proteins, vitamins, trace elements, minerals, essential amino acids, omega-3 fatty acids and enzymes that are necessary for good reproduction and rapid, healthy growth. It also contains supporting ingredients that make proteins easier for the body to absorb and process, including: Chitin, ß-glucans and iodine, for a strong immune system and a problem-free molting process in shrimp.

Protein XP from GlasGarten is very suitable for shrimp, snails, crayfish, crabs and omnivorous fish species.

Protein XP consists of 100% natural ingredients.

DOA Policy

Sorry, but there is no DOA coverage on this item as the product was not alive when we shipped it. If the item arrives alive, you may want to check the dosage on your medications, take a closer look at those mushrooms you bought at the store, and/or pray to your chosen deity because the end might be nigh. Also, if the product arrives alive, it is not eligible for a refund/replacement because the next one will likely arrive in the same condition and we can not be held responsible for animation of inanimate objects. And we certainly DO NOT want it back! We have more than enough lifeforms between the two of us and can’t take on anything new at this time. Just give it a name and make sure it’s potty trained because it is now your new pet. If you have read this all the way to the bottom, we like you! You’re our kind of weird.
